Les malades alzheimer s’enfoncent lentement. Comment les retenir ?
Entre présence et disparition, entre douleur et tendresse.
Que dire, quelles images faire de ce désastre, de ces couples , de ces familles rongés par la maladie.
Et la lutte pour continuer à vivre et aider celui ou celle que nous aimons à rester auprès de soi, à garder la tête hors de l’eau, avoir quelques plaisirs, quelques bonheurs, nous qui avions pensé vieillir ensemble.
La légitimité du photographe va être d’essayer de réaliser la mémoire de cette maladie qui la détruit, de rendre compte de ce combat où quelquefois un regard qui s’allume, le geste d’une main, un sourire qu’on n’attendait pas vont être comme autant de petites victoires venant remercier tous ceux qui sont autour, accompagnant et soignant les malades, chacun avec sa patience et son amour.
Et son humilité.

What to say, what images to make of this disaster, of these couples, of these families plagued by illness.
And the struggle to continue to live and help the one we love to stay close to us, to keep our heads above water, to have some pleasures, some joys, we who thought of aging together.
The legitimacy of the photographer will be to try to realize the memory of this disease that destroys it, to account for this fight or sometimes a glance that lights up, the gesture of a hand, a smile that we did not expect, will be like so many small victories coming to thank all those who are around, accompanying and caring for the sick, each with his patience and his love.
And his humility, too.
